بررسی اجرای عملیات پژوهشی در توده های دست کاشت جوان افرا و توسکا ییلاقی در جنگل تنکابن

This investigation has been conducted in two man-made 18-years-old Maple and Alder stands located in 450 m. a. s. l. at Valiabad-e Tonkabon. These two plantations were one of the most successful trials in the region and were selected ofter 100% full inventory. Beside a control area for each species, all trees were assessed and basal area, as well as dominant height were calculated. Using positive thinning method (Swies method) all plus trees in upper storey were marked and the most competitor individuals were eliminated gradually. Results indicated that the mean basal area of the Maple stand at the beginning of experiment was 20.12 m2/ha in control and 19.15 m2/ha in thinned area, and 5 years later ofter thinning it was 17.04 m2/ha and 22.97 m2/ha in control and experimental area, respectively. In the maple stand, 1.02 m2/ha of basal area was removed during thinnings. For the Alder stand statistics were 25 m2/ha and 23.60 m2/ha in the control and thinned area, respectively. These were calculated to 23.59 m2/ha in the control and 29.15 m2/ha in the thinning area after 5 years of interventions. In the Alder stand, 0.63 m2/ha was removed after thinning.
