چکیده مقاله:

Leukemia is one of the most common types of malignancy in children andthe most common type of leukemia is acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Inthis disease, the bone marrow produces large amounts of immature whiteblood cells due to damage to the DNA of hematopoietic cells. There areseveral treatments for leukemia in children, and in this article, we willdiscuss the effect of gene therapy on the control of this disease. In this study, the relevant information was searched from PubMed,Scopus, Google Scholar, and Magiran databases. Data analysis wasperformed qualitatively.Gene therapy is a new way of treating genetic diseases by modifying thegene structure; Gene delivery is also a targeted way to transfer genes totissues and cells in the human body, which involves the transfer of geneticmaterial into the cells of an organism for therapeutic purposes. Studiesshow that in gene therapy, by changing the genetic structure of the body'scells, the causative agent of diseases such as leukemia is significantlyinhibited, and one of the most effective techniques is CAR T-cell therapyand CRISPR-Cas۹. Recognizing the effects of different methods ofleukemia treatment, especially gene therapy, can lead to inhibition ofpediatric leukemia, improve the patient's condition and increase hisquality of life.
