A Model for Evaluating Arts Policies:Not an Economical but a Historical One

In this paper, the most enduring typological model for cultural and arts policy has been promoted for evaluating state arts policies. The original model has classified the arts policies in four roles (۱-facilitator, ۲-patron, ۳-architect and ۴-engineer). Five indicators (۱-mechanism of funding, ۲-policy objectives, ۳-artistic standards, ۴-policy dynamics and ۵-economic status of artists) has been used for demonstrating these roles. In the process of promoting and localizing the model and promoting a new model for evaluating the Iranian state arts policies there was an attempt to keep the original model's frame based on the definitions presented for the original roles. In the promoted model, new indicators have been defined as: ۱-funding mechanism, ۲-tool, ۳-policy dynamic and ۴-goal.
