“Investigating the causes of periods of economic prosperity and recession and evaluating the performanceof other economic sectors in this period”

This article examines the causes of business cycles and evaluates the performance of other sectors of the economy duringperiods of economic prosperity and recession. First, we have stated the different definitions of business cycles from thepoint of view of economists, and in this regard, we have reached a comprehensive definition of business cycles. In thefollowing, we explained the views of different schools in relation to the origin of the creation of cycles, that the purposeof studying the definition and identification of the determining factors of business cycles is to be able to usemacroeconomic policies in each period to provide optimal strategies to lead to the creation of longer periods of prosperityalong with better performance of various institutions or passing periods of recession should be shorter. The findingsindicate that the movement of most of the economic indicators is in the same direction as business cycles. In other words,during economic prosperity, most sectors of the economy will witness growth and development, and on the contrary,during periods of recession, we will witness stagnation.
