چکیده مقاله:

Discogenic lower back pain (DLBP) is the most common type of chronic lower back pain (LBP), accounting for۳۹% of cases, compared to ۳۰% of cases due to disc herniation.Nociceptive fibers are mainly innervate the intervertebral disc as sensory fibers, also the disc is innervated bybranches of the sinuvertebral nerve, nerves derived from the ventral rami of spinal nerves, and nerves derivedfrom gray rami communicates. They are primarily located on the annulus fibrosus's borders which causingpain. However, these nociceptive nerve fibers extend into the disc more widely that are producing discogenicpain. This internal development in discopathies may contribute to or worsen discogenic back discomfort. Todenervate and ablate these nociceptive nerve fibers in the spinal disc, minimally invasive intradiscaltreatments, such as Radiofrequency, have been used. However, during these treatments, high temperaturescan cause the disc to shrink. During Pulsed Radiofrequency(PRF) procedures, the intended tissuetemperature is kept at or below ۴۲°C. Consequently, PRF stimulation does not generate enough heat to causedestruction in disc tissue. So different mechanisms such as immunomodulation have been considered for PRFeffects in discogenic pain control. In this presentation we will have a rapid review on radiofrequency effects in discogenic pain treatment.
