چکیده مقاله:

Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) is a vasculopathy involving small and intermediate vessels of extremities with various medical and surgical treatment strategies. This cohort study aimed to compare outcomes of medical and surgical interventions in patients with TAO. Patients with a definite diagnosis of TAO were enrolled in the study and evaluated on the first day, ۳ months, and ۶ months’ follow-up visits. Improvements in the primary complaints were compared between the groups. Number of ۷۰ patients with TAO were followed for ۳۰ months. ۹۸.۶% of them were male. The mean age of the patients was ۴۳.۲۴± ۹.۸ years. ۳۷ sympathectomy surgery, ۱۱ amputation surgery, ۱۵ bypass surgery, and ۱۲ medical therapies with ILOPROST were considered for the patients. The final results showed that the primary complaints have been significantly improved better in patients who underwent bypass surgery than the others. Surgical sympathectomy and bypass surgery are helpful in patients with persistent pain and non-healing ischemic lesions that have abstained from the consumption of tobacco
