Implementation of Social Impact Assessment for the Project of Transferring High-Risk Chemical Markets: A Case Study of Tehran's Naser Khosrow Avenue

In this study the social impacts of chemical market transferring project in Naser Khosrow Ave evaluated. In this regard, the questionnaires distributed to collect required data. These data then analyzed using the SPSS software. According to the obtained results, the continuous presence of the chemical vendors in the area leads to the social dissatisfaction, dominance of a particular economic section, reducing social security, disorders in urban life, and consequently loss of the public trust which is an important social factor. The results of social impact assessment of the transfer project indicate that by correct implementation of the transfer project the future threats will decrease and the population density, as well as night lives of the Naser Khosrow Ave, would improve until ۲۰۲۱. Following these changes, the residential dwellings will grow in the Nasr Khosrow area and cause a logical increase in the selling and renting prices of accommodations which as an alternative factor would facilitate the economic improvement of the area. Eventually, the current concerns about the reduction of the social trust would decline through the improvement of residency and proper economic activities. This process is a turning point to improve life security and social welfare in Naser Khosrow area.
