چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the language learning attitudes and motivations of ۲۳۸ Iranianschool students aged ۱۳ to ۱۵, employing the Williams and Burden (۱۹۹۷) questionnaire. In addition to assessing instrumental and integrative motivations, the perceivedimportance of English, and the influence of teachers and parents, the research examinesstudents' attitudes toward environmental factors impacting their language learningexperiences. The findings not only shed light on the multifaceted nature of languagelearning motivations but also reveal a noteworthy trend: a significant portion of thesestudents lacks sufficient motivation, compounded by factors related to the educationalenvironment. Key themes include the instrumental value of language skills, integrativemotivations rooted in personal and cultural connections, and the influential roles ofteachers, parents, and environmental factors. This research underscores the criticalimportance of addressing both motivational deficits and environmental considerations foreffective language education strategies among Iranian students in this age range.
