چکیده مقاله:
Background: House dust mites are small arthropods that can contribute to asthma and human allergies. These mites play an important role in causing asthma and allergies and their presence in homes can pose a serious threat to people s health. Objectives: This study was carried out to determine the fauna of house dust mites and their distribution in residential buildings of Sanandaj in 2018.Material & Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in spring and summer of 2018. The studied places were 20 residential houses in different parts of Sanandaj which were randomly selected and sampled. Vacuum cleaners were used to sample collection. The collected samples were clarified with 85% lactic acid and identified with the valid keys. Results: Of 545 specimens of collected mite, three species of house dust mite including Dermatophagoides etronosiinos (70.8%), D. farinae (20%) and D. evansi (9.2%) were identified. House dust mites of residential areas that regularly used a vacuum cleaner to clean up furniture and bedding were very low or zero. There was no significant difference between the amount of abundance of mites with temperature of the environment and relative humidity (p <0.05).Conclusion: The high abundance of D. petronosinosis in most residential areas can be a hazard to the spread of asthma and allergies in these areas. Therefore, it is essential to hold classes in this field to increase of knowledge about mites and their allergens.
